Colour is the main theme behind the 2008 interior trend 'Reinvent'. Lots of colours and some slightly un-conventional contrasts. Woods and grey's work well together, especially if mixed with some retro '60s colours like aqua, pink and lime green. To successfully pull off 'Reinvent' stay away from brand new, flat pack furniture as its too clean. Instead, worn and wooden furniture is King, and its Queen is quirky. You'll be amazed at what you can get at your local charity shop! If possible, varnish hardwood flooring a dark shade of brown. Laminate wood flooring can work as long as its a good quality and a darker colour. Avoid vinyl and carpet flooring.

Reinvent works in a lot of rooms, but the smaller the room gets, the lighter the colour should get. Instead of going over the top, paint one wall a deep shade and have this as you focal wall. Then contrast with a light grey of grey mix. This will keep the room open and relaxed rather than dark and over powering. Why not work a piece of organic or abstract canvas art onto the focal wall, I'd recommend a large Try-pic if possible
