Invidia is the use of black, whites (off whites and chalk) and metallic colours such as bronze and gold to create this glamorous and bold interior. Colours you'd expect to be dark and soulless are brought to life with flashes of intense colour, like the metallic's mentioned, or yellows and reds (although natural metal colours look best)

Do some research into the '80s yuppie flats and try and avoid making the same mistake they made. This is not a tatty interior, quality finishing like leather and real woods like oak and mahogany are key details.

The key to successfully pulling off invidia is the accessories. Lighting (switches and all) can be finished in gold or aluminum (brushed looks amazing next to black) as can candlesticks and picture frames. With mirror and picture frames, big period frames look amazingly over the top but suit the feel of the room.

Consider a focal point modern chandelier for the ultimate in modern glamour. For artwork, look to inject some intense colours with large retro canvas prints. Also consider large mirrors opposite sources of natural light to open the room up even more.
