Quick note @16th April 2011 - we have a heap of new art coming onto the site in the next couple of weeks. The first arrivals are on right now from the prolific artists Irleman & BOYD.
"Mehr Maid" is a beautiful piece of eroded art from Frazier BOYD. A worn stencil on the left makes way to to a bold, masked template inspired by a 1920's flapper girl. Trademark stencil masking sprayed heavily in matte black over some really distressed posters, with subtle daubs of colour complete the piece. BOYD's logo completes the piece, blending perfectly with the art. And prices start at just £45 for a limited edition print - what more can you ask for....?
"Jelly Head" is an abstract, dreamy piece of art. Using BOYD's trademark rollering over masked areas to carefully highlight selected textures. The sharp stabs of colour & erroding posters that are revealed underneath beautifully hint at it's ephemeral nature. I personally love the placement of the textures underneath - chopping up the visual & breaking it into something abstract, yet maintaining the compositional integrity at the same time.

Finally we have a classic, recently transformed onto 12 inch vinyl records. Part of the Plastic Art range, this is of course the classic Abbey Road walk, made famous by the Beetles.
Produced & designed in-house in our Vinola studio in Leicester, UK. We use original, 12" vinyl records salvaged from collectors, car boots or second hand shops. (Don't worry, we do not harm any decent records in the making of these pieces of art!!) The process involves us slowly building up layers of paint, which are then sealed with a lacquer, making them fully waterproof, durable and enhancing the colours. On the rear, a wooden frame is attached to the Vinyl Record which lifts it off the wall about 3.85cm. The frame on the reverse is light, so that the finished product is ready to hang & a well aligned mirror plate on the reverse means that you can have it on the wall with minimal effort. Leed-times are an extended 10 working days, although they are well worth the wait
