We have a great new selection of art for November 2011. We have all been busy bees in the studio recently, and managed to get over 200 new designs up and on the site.
We have a selection of new hand painted pieces from Victoria Mason, some of (which like Slate Honeycomb) are for the Interior trends 2012.
We also have hot new London Photographer - Ev Sekkides - who's work including a range of London landscapes, some abstract shots, and some rare shots of Slavik Gabinsky doing a private recital. Here is a brief overview of some of the new pieces featured on the site:
A fun and slightly phsycadelic depiction of falling leaves spiralling around pink flowers in bold yellow and pink to make the image a real eye popper, set over a green background infused with fun purple doodles to give the image depth.

Everybody loves to sit down and watch
a film, be it on a regular basis or once in a blue moon. Some movies
will go down as classics, others will go down as box office flops,
the one thing that makes movie
art an ever increasingly popular style of art is that each new
generation springs up new film idol as well as vintage memories of
decades gone by still being talked about.
Movie art is for this reason slightly
unique when compared to any other style of art apart from music art,
in that it will never die out as ling as movies are being produced
and people watch them and are influenced by them.
From early to mid Twentieth century
classic actors such as James Dean, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne and
Elizabeth Taylor, through to modern day stars such as Brad Pitt,
Gerard Butler, Al Pacino, Angelina Jolie and countless more; movie
art keeps going from strength to strength.
Equally as popular in both the
residential and commercial sectors, movie art can be seen in bars
throughout the world, whilst in the home movie
canvas prints can be found on many bedroom, games room and
bedroom walls.
Some movies and movie characters seem
to live forever, Star Wars, Scarface, Dirty Harry, Batman and most
Quention Tarrantino directed films are always popular choices whilst
actors such as Michael Caine, Clint Eastwood and Marlon Brando remain
cult figures decade after decade with every generation.
With over a decades history, films
provide people with inspiration, excitement and also influence many
different emotions depending on the type of movie being watched. The
same can be said for art so it is little wonder that by combining two
extremely popular cultures in art and films that movie
canvas art shows no signs of slowing down in creation or
popularity.
The 90s was a golden era for film
production and holds fond memories for people who were in their teens
and twenties of the UK music scene being rejuvenated by indie music
and many cult blockbuster films hitting the big screen.
Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs,
Goodfellas and many other gangster style movies were produced in
abundance with huge numbers of global fans, these very films are
still inspiring the sales trends of individual pieces of movie
canvas art year after year.
In the modern era of ultra
technologically advanced film production, many movie stars and story
lines push the boundaries of imagination to the limits, it seems
certain that perhaps in five to ten years time that the movies being
released now will be gaining their own cult movie
art status.
Summarising the influence and
continued popularity of movie art, it seems that there is no possible
way that it will ever decrease whilst movies continue to be released
and fans flock to the cinemas and are inspired by their story lines
and actors, what better way to re-live a movie than through your own
movie
canvas prints.

Wall Art sales have not slowed down during the economic downturn of the past few years. In fact many art dealers are reporting record numbers of sales in the year of 2011.
The current economic state has had a negative effect on sales trends in many industries. Business turnover and profits have generally taken a downturn over the past few years, especially in the retail and high street sectors.
It seems however that art is fighting against this trend and many art dealers, retailers and galleries are reporting record high sales for the year of 2011 when compared to previous year’s sales.
Only yesterday globally renowned Christies announced record revenues in 2011, selling art over the year to the value of £3.6 billion. When compared to the previous year of 2010, this is a growth of 9% which really does show that art is beating the downturn in the short term at least.
As a manufacturer and retailer of canvas prints and wall art, WhoArtNow can vouch for the ups and downs of the art world over the past few years. The way that people search for art retailers has also changed over the past few years.
Many new advertising avenues such as group buying, affiliates and international expansion have all been areas that have opened new doors than in previous years to online retailers.
As the economic climate continues to take a downward spiral the question must be how long can the art world fight and continue to make positive upward movements? The answer hopefully will be every year!
There are certain industries like art that seem bulletproof at this moment in time from the current recession however there should be more thought given as to why these industries do better than others. Obviously the longevity of products such as wall art and canvas prints means more value for money than for example a new pair of trainers or luxury food.
How the art world fares in 2012 is anybody’s guess at this moment in time, WhoArtNow will continue to produce bespoke wall art to inspire and offer a cost effective, affordable art solution throughout the year. We hope the art sector continues to grow from strength to strength!

We have a very sneaky peak at some screen prints & originals by BOYD. All works are original, one of a kind pieces. Featuring different base layers sprayed up with layer upon layer of freehand graffiti. Expect to see some unbelievably tight graffiti, their trademark textured laying & masking, and some intensely bright fluorescent colours..... The process involved screen-printing the top layer in plastasol ink - for a crisp, matte finish. All art is printed on the very finest fine art paper - a 340gsm archive museum grade textured paper: The market leading Hahnemuhle media. Prints are signed by the artist, sealed and numbered for authenticity.
All prints created from scratch all at our Vinola House Studio in Leicester.
The prints have been made for a forthcoming solo exhibition by BOYD>> We are also very excited to be featuring some of BOYD's original works - as exclusives to WHoArtNow - so you will be seeing some prints released through our website in the near future. Watch this space - if you are a fan of BOYD please sign up to our newsletter and don't forget to visit their artist website for more info!
