Oriental Sweetness is all about the Orient. Art that is heavily influenced by Asia and the East is prominent here. Oriental Art is no mystery to WHoArtNow, we have been producing and heavily pushing the Whole Japanese Floral Art style for as long as we can remember. There is something about Asian Art, it manages to be decorative & minimal, yet maintains intricacy, precision and detail. Contemporary, blown up sections of Oriental Art is just another concept that we have been pushing for years, way before everyone else! [Like 60's wallpaper, like Street Art on canvas.]Oriental Sweetness 1

Oriental Sweetness as the title suggests take all its influences from the far East from all periods of time, especially vintage Japan. Simple and minimal shapes work well with vibrant and bold colours to give a warm and inviting taste of the East. Vintage Japanese Floral's, Asian silk textiles, Delicate Chinese illustrations are given a new lease of life and brought up to date.

The colour palate for Oriental Sweetness involves lots of strong and rich shades of purples, blues and reds. For best results, mix up the colours and use natural shades as your base. Off whites and light browns.

Oriental Sweetness 2The traditional decoration in Japanese Oriental is floral designs and there usually very simple and elegant designs. The use of block colours rather than shading and contrasting colours is very popular at the moment because it shares some of the same design ideas as the more modern Pop Art movement.

We have been experimenting with classic Japanese silk textiles which have been digitally pixilated and placed in a new context, as Modern Art.

Accessorise with some really intense colour & delicate oriental side pieces. You could also consider some retro canvas art as the bright and striking block colours and patterns of retro images and wallpapers add amazing flashes of inspiration into the room.

You could also consider some subtle metallic's. Chrome light switches and plug sockets highlight the subtle tones of whites and blacks.

The sky is the limit here! For decor, look at Recreated home furnishingsmade from Vintage Japanese Floral Textiles. Try certain Auction Sites for Oriental room accessories. If you fancy splashing out, we would seriously recommend some reclaimed teak Chinese furniture. Vintage Chinese furniture is big at the minute, set to explode next year though.

Hope is a light and airy interior using whites, off whites and chalks to give an almost heavenly interior. Use of multiple finishes (matt satin, and gloss) add depth and texture. Add in shades of grey for a light contrast.Avoid dark greys as they darken and dull the effect.

Hope 1If you do want some colour then light and subtle tones of pink and yellow work well in small amounts. Consider a abstract and floral canvas prints as we have featured here.

Hope 2

For artwork, think minimal. Abstract is good, macro shots can work well so check the Organic section. Some Greyscale prints will also work although nature shots are best.

For this interior to work to its best, large rooms are best. High ceilings, lots of windows for natural light and some period moldings all add small detailing. However, thanks to the light colour scheme, it would also work well in smaller rooms to trick you into feeling like you;re in a larger space. Just don't expect lighting miracles!
