So you've got your canvas, you are well chuffed with it, but how to you look after it & keep it looking its best. Not to worry, if you follow these simple instructions (that we include in all our canvases that are sent out) you can't go wrong! Re-tensioning If your canvas becomes slack, it will need to be re tensioned. Place it face down on a clean, smooth surface & with a small hammer or mallet, very gently knock the plastic “wedges” at a slight angle into the frame. This will push the stretcher bars apart & re tension the canvas. Cleaning Do not clean with a wet/damp cloth: using a soft sponge or duster lightly on the surface will get rid of any dust that has settled. If you get any dimples or small dents in your canvas, our top tip is top hold the area of the canvas face up, over a boiling kettle for a few seconds & the steam will pull it nice & tight again! Warning: it is extremely careful not to scald yourself. |
